Our owner Matthew Freemantle is a wine professional with a background in journalism and several years experience operating businesses within the hospitality industry.

He currently owns and operates Leo’s and is co-owner of Good Juice, a wine fair and empowerment initiative aimed at enhancing diversity within the wine industry.

He holds the Wine & Spirit Education Trust’s Level 3 qualification in Wines. As a consultant he has helped various restaurants and bars with their wine program and works closely with selected premium local wine brands producing their mailers, tasting notes and other forms of communication.

As a journalist he has been published in the New Statesman, Wallpaper, Apartamento and GQ.

His main expertise lies in wine list selection, pairing suggestions and wording but extends to training of wine service staff and engaging with a vast contact book within the industry to secure deals, prized allocations and rare vintages.
